GENERAL FUNCTION

The Procurement Assistant owns and drives the procurement process within the dental laboratories supply chain. Interacts with internal partners including Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing across all facilities (OC, LA, RS, NJ), Product, Engineering and Manufacturing to understand material and demand requirements. Works with external vendors to ensure the best value, highest quality and timely delivery for optimal inventory levels in support of production plans. Full responsibility on ordering, tracking, receiving and putting away the materials.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and procure material requirements for the dental laboratories
  • Manage suppliers to meet completion dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
  • Manage optimal inventory levels
  • Create purchase orders to support production requirements
  • Expedite supplier orders that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Develop partnership with local and overseas suppliers
  • Prepare procurement reports
  • Take active part on lean activities with suppliers when apply (Consignment Inventory, Kanban Inventory)
  • Verifies the materials in inbound and receives it in the system
  • Oversees the correct management of the physical inventory


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years experience in sourcing, procurement, logistics and/or inventory management in manufacturing environment
    • OR combination of a 4-year degree in related field and relevant internship experience
  • Experience in multiple, concurrent project and/or program management & scheduling
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • General knowledge and understanding of consumer product manufacturing
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interface effectively with coworkers ranging from senior vice presidents to production floor associates
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Requires tact, judgment, and a highly developed sense of responsibility
  • Experienced with MS Office suite including MS Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement/Sourcing, Business or other related area
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent ability to prioritize
  • Effective skills in supplier analysis
  • Factual and data-driven decision-maker
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software applications such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Bilingual- English + Spanish
  • Familiarity with the Dental field


Estimated hourly rate: $21 - $26
